The Wave Pendulum

There are 240 balls in this wave pendulum. The top of the pendulum swings about twice as fast as the bottom. The pendulum gets increasingly 'chaotic' until eventually the whole thing syncs up again.

It takes a little while before the interference patterns become interesting. However, at the bottom of the page there is a Fiddling Button to control the pendulum's speed and a variety of other things.

The four dots in the background can be helpful in creating a stereoscopic effect.
